This variation of a Christian Cross makes a great pattern for creating personal or non-profit, handmade Christmas ornaments, sewing or woodworking projects, embroidery, latch-hook rugs or wall hangings, crochet designs or stencils.
Print this paper cross instruction page on regular to heavy duty 8 1/2" x 11" paper.
Take one sheet of any color paper, (8 1/2" x 11"). Fold using the instructions then cut out the cross design. Color with crayons, markers or waterpaint. Decorate with colorful glitter, sequins, cloth trimmings, yarn, feathers, etc.
A variation of this pattern: instead of using scissors to cut the pattern, tear the paper. The result will be a ragged edged cross. The Valentine design will be too difficult to tear, however, as the paper folds will be too thick at that point.
